Charlotte Tilbury Mini Haul

As you have no doubt heard, Charlotte Tilbury has recently opened a counter in Brown Thomas Dublin. Unfortunately at the moment the only products available are her Magic Cream and Wonder Glow primer. The makeup collection will land in August. I was recently in the UK for a hen party and took the opportunity to treat myself to some of the Charlotte Tilbury eye shadows.
I purchased an eyeshadow quad in the Rock Chick colourway, and a Colour Chameleon eyeshadow pencil in Amethyst Aphrodisiac, both of which are nothing short of stunning. Now the prices were in sterling but I’m hoping they won’t mark them up by too much. The quad was £38 and the pencil £19 so I’m hoping for in and around €50 & €25, which isn’t too bad. Expensive yes, but not as bad as say the Tom Ford range….which by the way, was also created by Ms Tilbury. If like me, you lusted after a Tom Ford quad, but found €70 just that leetle bit to far to stretch for a quad, then Charlotte Tilbury might be the lady for you.

The quads each have a look based around them with corresponding lipsticks, glosses, blushes etc. Obviously you can mix and match, but it’s nice to get an idea of what shades go together, that you may not necessarily have thought of. The packaging is beautiful in a wine and rose gold finish. The quads are similar in style to the Tom Ford ones if you are familiar with them. Check out the little star in the top right hand corner of the mirror…..so cute.

As you can see I was a bold blogger and used these before photographing them. Hey, I was on a hen and sharing a room…..I’d have looked like a mad yoke taking photos of my makeup before using it…..that’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it. The quads (surprisingly enough) consist of 4 shades. Clockwise from top left, prime, enhance, smoke & pop. These names are the same for all the quads and are basically just a guide for how to apply them. They are all buttery soft to apply and blend, there is minimal fallout, though for the pop sparkly shades I’d suggest applying with fingers rather than your brushes, it’s slightly harder than the other shades, but being a glitter that’s to be expected. I’ve used it for both day and nighttime and it works perfectly for both. For day I use just the prime shade all over the lids and then the enhance shade in the outer corner and crease.

Now for some weird reason the hand swatches of the quad are showing up as more brown than grey (though Amethyst Aphrodisiac is photographing fine), but the finger swatches and close up of my eyes pretty true to life. It’s a wonderful cool toned grey palette. This has been getting so much love that my poor Colour Chameleon pencil is hardly getting a look in, though it is equally lovely, it is, for me at least, more of a night time shade so I’ve only worn it the once yet and didn’t take photos (sorry). Anywoo it is a doddle to use. You basically scribble on your eyelid, blend it out quickly with either your fingers or a brush…..you have about a minute before it sets, but when it does, bam that baby aint going nowhere til it’s time to take it off.

On the whole I am hugely impressed with my Charlotte Tilbury purchases and I will be making a trip to Dublin specifically to visit her counter (well and Space NK of course) when it opens in August, as I’m pretty sure I’m going to need one of her lipsticks in the lovely art deco packaging. And possibly one of everything…..my poor credit card.

    • It’s so pretty. They’re supposed to be different shades to enhance different eye colours but I went for one for green eyes. Mine are blue green but I like to try & enhance the green.
