So these 30 day blog posts seem to be all the rage at the moment and I’ve finally found one that sounds right up my street. 30 Days of Beauty….naturally says you. So, down to business.
Day 1:
Favourite Lipstick.
Hmmm, up to recently I would have said Mac Full Fuchsia. It has an Amplified Creme finish, which is bright, very pigmented, has a sheen to it and is quite moisturising. It lasts for feckin ages, is comfortable to wear and does not dry the lips. I wore Full Fuchsia for my wedding day and loved it. Recently though I purchased a Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl and it was lurve at first scribble. Firstly, what’s not to love about drawing on your lip colour with a big chunky crayon? It is a bright, blue based red which Nars describe as “siren red”, and who wouldn’t like to think of themselves as a siren, I ask you? It has a fabulous matte texture, and does, in fact, feel velvetty on the lips, due in no small part to the vitamin e content I’m sure. I don’t find it at all drying. It is easy to apply and does not require much in the way of upkeep, once this sucker is on, it’s staying put. Even through food and drink….if you eat something greasy you may need to touch up the centre of your lips but other then that, it aint going anyway. I have put this on at 9am, touched it up around 4pm and still found it to be near perfect by 10pm. I was never a red lip girl, but Nars Dragon Girl has converted me.
